  • Highly integrated payloads

Swiss Space Technology has, and is currently participatingin ongoing research with the European Space Agencies advanved concepts department on miniaturisation of scientific payload. This involves assessing a large section of future payload technologies and possible electronics resource sharing and reduction.

  • Space communication

The Spacewire communications system has been implemented by Swiss Space Technology in a number of projects. This includes the SpaceWire video camera mentioned on this page.

  • Cluster2 Fluxgate Magnetometer

The main processing system for the Cluster2 Fluxgate magnetometers was designed and built by Swiss Space Technology staff. Its precision design has been shown to be be incredibly robust and has now withstood over five years in a polar earth orbit. A massive amount of scientifically valuable data has been processed by these DPU systems giving a unpresidented understanding of the earth's magnetoshere.

  • High Resolution Spacewire Camera

Swiss Space Technology has developped a SpaceWire enabled high resolution video camera for use within a highly integrated payload environment. The high speed data connection, frame memory  and camera control are all housed in a single FPGA.

  • FPGAs in space

Swiss Space Technology has co-authored a number of published scientific papers along with its partner companies and the European Space Agency. These outline the prolific use of FPGA technology in  space applications. These publications have been presented at high profile scientific and space conferences.
